Washburn Electric Guitar 7 String Wg587
This is a gorgeous Washburn J-10 jazz archtop. It has a spruce top, flame maple sides and back, and a natural honey-tinted finish. I believe it's a 1994 (serial number 941100XX). It's in very good condition overall, but a few modifications should be noted: A tone control has been added (most had just a volume), and a bridge pickup was added with double-stick tape (there are two small switches under the pickguard that turn each pickup on & off). The strap button has been moved from the heel, to the side. Also, there is an oversized brass jack plate...I assume the original jack hole was damaged. Now for the best part...this guitar SINGS! Really. It has amazing resonance, sustain, and high-end response. I put flatwound strings on it, because roundwounds were just too bright....almost like a flat-top acoustic. Now the tone is warm and fat, but it still has excellent upper-midrange articulation. That's the only reason I'm selling it...I prefer a very dark, muddy jazz tone. The neck is straight, and it plays like butter with low action and no buzz...even with .013 strings (jazz aficionados know that heavy strings have higher tension, and thus less deflection, so the action can be lower). I have about 40 guitars right now, so a few of them have to go. If you've been looking for a J-10 Orleans, you know that they're hard to find...especially in a natural finish. This is the only one I've ever seen with flame maple. This guitar has stunning looks and monster tone. You will not be disappointed. But your friends will...you'll turn them all down when they try to buy it from you I'll include a case (not pictured). I'll ship anywhere in the lower 48 states for $30. Payment must be received within 7 days. Please email me for online payment instructions. All items are described to the best of our ability, but as with any auction, all items are sold as-is.
