Comments about Washburn HB35 Hollow Body Electric Guitar:

I've been playing for years and have several guitars by famous makers.
The Washburn HB35 can certainly hold it's own with any of them.
This guitar really cuts through with any of my amps.
Great for blues, country or jazz. Just adjust the tone. The pots have a wide sensitive differential in tone and volume.
I've always preferred the pickup switch to be on the front upper side of the body like a Les Paul,
    which this guitar has.
Also, the guitar is well balanced.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Washburn HB35 Hollow Body Electric Guitar:

    I
tried out a new and a used one and they BOTH were great playing and
sounding guitars. I have a prized late 60's Guild Starfire and almost 40
guitars total and still counting,I am a Country Artist,Songwriter, and
Producer, and I was very pleasantly surprised with this Washburn. No,it
isn't a Gibson,Guild,or other high end guitar in name OR COST,but it is a
very good, working musician's instrument that does sound hot. A
guitarist can make this work in most any venue. It is well worth the
    money.

Comments about Washburn HB35 Hollow Body Electric Guitar:

    This
thing rocks! And it does a lot of things as well or better than any
ES-335 I've played. At first, I didn't like the heavy gauge strings,
including the standard wound G (impossible to bend.) But the heavy
gauge strings combined with wickedly snarly pickups justify the
compromise. I changed the strings immediately from 12s to 10s, and that
was a mistake. The lower tension made it impossible to avoid fret buzz
and a bridge lift, resuting in poor action in the higher frets. So I
took it back to the dealer, and for the low, low cost of [$], had 12s
put on it, and swapped the wound G (24) for an unwound G (22), had the
truss rod readjusted to specs, frets polished, and got it back
yesterday. I test drove it in the shop, and Hector the guru who did the
work said it was comparable to any ES-335, and beautiful (Wine Red) to
boot. I amped up through a Mesa Boogie, and actually drew a small crowd
in the guitar shop, not because I am so talented, but because the
sounds coming out of this thing were incredible. Growl, Snarl, Bluesy,
Jazzy, all with a few turns of the knobs on the Mesa or via the toggle
switch. [$] If you can live without Gibson on the headstock, you can
have a dream guitar and money left over to buy the new Mesa 2 x 12 amp.
Bending the G hard still takes some effort, but I view it as good
exercise for my playing hand. I DO NOT recommend putting lighter gauge
strings on this one and then having it set up to work with them. The
sound with 13s is just to sweet to give up.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
